When Charles II was fleeing the Roundheads, he is reputed to have offered his helpers a 'Carte Blanche'. This was a 'White Card', a blank sheet of paper with his signature at the bottom. The recipient of this could then write anything they wanted above the royal signature and it would be legal.

MR Carte Blanche is a passion project for Matt Reed & Mel Remai, designed as an excuse for us to meet and collect the stories of the always changing, ever amazing, eclectic Mob that make up Australia’s Artistic/Creative Community.
Anything that is beautiful to look at, wear, taste…..we love and want to share.
Our approach is underpinned by the philosophy that;

We are called MR CARTE BLANCHE because our initials are both MR [Mel Remai and Matt Reed]….But mostly because the domain name CARTE BLANCHE was already taken ;}

Matt Reed:
After completing a degree in film studies in Bris Vegas and a stint in Hollywood, Matt arrived in Sydney 28 years ago to follow his dream of becoming a professional photographer and film maker…..he is still doing that.

Mel Remai:
After completing a degree in fine art at Paddington ?, Mel travelled the world and ended up in the US where she embarked on a successful career in fashion/project management. Mel returned to Paddington in 2019 in order to raise her Son in Australia.
